SD legislators adopt resolution for summer study on zebra mussels

PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The South Dakota House of Representatives has agreed with the state Senate that a summer study on zebra mussel mitigation might not be a bad idea.  Senate Concurrent Resolution 602 passed the 70-member House Wednesday.  Representative Rebecca Reimer of says zebra mussels could have numerous impacts on the rivers and lakes in South Dakota.

S-C-R 602 passed 69 to zero with an excused vote.  The measure holds no enforcement mechanism and is essentially a supported suggestion to the Governor by the legislature.
