PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Legislators on a South Dakota committee have approved a bill that would legalize recreational marijuana use for adults, while repealing much of the medical marijuana law passed last year by the voters.
The bill sponsor is Representative Hugh Bartels of Watertown.
Bartels says the second part of the bill would roll back the medical marijuana law.
Representative Fred Deutsch of Florence says he has a problem with repealing a law passed by the voters.
The proposed bill passed out of the Adult Use Marijuana Study Subcommittee on an eight to four vote.
It will now move to the full Marijuana Interim Study Committee for further debate.
