PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The Executive Board of the South Dakota legislature has appointed a committee to oversee and offer guidance on spending priorities for billions more of federal dollars coming to the state.
Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, who will be on that committee, says last year’s experiences will guide them.
Hunhoff says the committee can only offer suggestions and a possible framework.
Hunhoff say some of the money will arrive fairly quickly.
The state could see up to three point three billion dollars from the “American Rescue Plan” passed by Congress earlier this year.
The Executive Board is scheduled to meet again on June second.
