YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Finding workers to fill numerous openings depends on a number of factors including pay, housing and often childcare.
Nancy Wenande, C.E.O. of Yankton Thrive, says the one hundred million dollars in child care grants proposed by Governor Kristi Noem won’t fill in all the gaps.
Wenande says childcare can often cost as much as a monthly house payment.
Wenande says there are talks going on about a community type child care facility.
The legislature will have the final say on any new spending programs on childcare.
