SD Legislature set aside two million dollars for adult day services

SOUTH DAKOTA(WNAX)- The South Dakota legislature this year passed a bill setting aside two million dollars to begin a sustain adult day services to give caretakers a break.

Leslie Morrow, Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association of South Dakota, says it’s a huge benefit.

Morrow says there are only three active day service centers now.

Morrow says they hope to see services expand beyond Sioux Falls and Rapid City.

The number of those with Alzheimer’s in the state is expected to grow about eleven percent over the next few years.
