PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Office of School and Public Lands held their annual land lease auction through the months of March and April.

Interim Commissioner Jarrod Johnson says they had a small offering this year of about forty thousand acres.

Johnson says overall they saw an increase in the rental bids.

Johnson says their market follows livestock prices, to a degree.

The officer oversees over seven hundred fifty thousand acres of public lands, with different parcels coming up for lease auctions every year.
