South Dakota Public Utilities Commission Chairman Chris Nelson says renewable sources are fine, but can drop off at times.

Nelson says utilities are looking for new technologies to produce electricity.

Nelson says regulated utilities have to make their investments, then come ask for rate adjustments.

The Biden Administration is aiming for zero carbon emissions from utilities by 2035.
