PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- While we are dealing with late summer heat, there is concern about the costs and availability of natural gas for heating this winter.
South Dakota Public Utilities Commission Chairman Chris Nelson says gas supplies should be adequate.
Nelson says there is going to be exceptional price demand this winter.
Europe is being squeezed due to Russia shutting down gas supplies.
Nelson says the higher costs of natural gas will be passed along to customers.
Nelson says they are working with utilities to get a better handle on any potential gas supply issues this winter.
