SD PUC Chairman not happy with the energy companies & regulators

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- When Texas froze up in February, it started a cascading chain of events with rolling blackouts and natural gas disruptions across the middle of the country.

While energy companies and regulators have been meeting since that happened, South Dakota Public Utilities Commission Chairman Chris Nelson says the problems have not been solved.

Nelson says with cold weather starting to filter in, there needs to be more urgency.

Nelson says energy companies and the Southwest Power Pool need better coordination.

Nelson says they are continuing their contacts with state and regional energy companies.
