PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The South Dakota Senate has approved a bill to appropriate funds so the Board of Regents can update the South Dakota State University Cottonwood Field Station in Jackson County. Senator Gary Cammack of Union Center says the research complex was heavily damaged by severe weather last week.
Cammack says the Cottonwood Field Station was to play an important part in a bill passed by last year’s Legislature….
The bill passed the Senate floor on a 34 to one vote with Senator Julie Frye-Mueller of Rapid City voting against the measure. The Cottonwood Field Station is 11 miles west of Phillip just south of U-S Highway 14.
