BRITTON, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Thursday, the SD Department of Transportation hosted a public forum addressing the construction of SD HWY 27 that will be happening just south of Britton.

Project Manager Scott Middaugh talks about the two locations just south of Britton.

He goes into details on each location.

The one that will have the most impact on traffic is the one by Hickman Lake.

Middaugh discuss how the construction could impact the utilities at both locations.

Middaugh talks about once construction, that will lead to closure of that part of the highway near Hickman Lake.

Later this summer, Middaugh will discuss with landowners that could be potentially impacted by the project.

The estimated cost for the project is around 12 million dollars.  They hope to have construction started in the summer of 2028.  They will both be done at the same time.
