PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Department of Transportation is getting ready for the inevitable winter work.
Operations Manager Craig Smith updated the Transportation Commission last week on their preparations.
Smith says they cut their budget back this year.
Smith says they are having a tough time finding the snow plow drivers they need.
Smith says snowplows normally run from 5AM to about 7 to 8PM. He says only the Sioux Falls area would see 24-hour operations.
