PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Department of Transportation sponsored four public meetings over the past couple of weeks focused on updating the state rail plan.
Jack Dokken, Air, Rail & Transit Program Manager for the D.O.T. says they had some good input.
Dokken says they have a consultant that will take the input and put it together in a report.
The last formal rail plan was done in 2014. Dokken says a lot has changed in the rail industry since then.
Dokken says they plan to have a formal report to the Rail Board by this fall.
