ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- As Navigator continues their pipeline hearing with the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission, the North Dakota Public Service Commission voted to deny Summit Carbon Solutions their permit for CO2 pipeline in North Dakota. South Dakota Farmers Union President Doug Sombke offered his reactions to both.
Sombke discuss the decision made by the ND PSC about Summit & how it may impact the SD PUC.
Sombke talks about the economic impact that the Navigator permit will have for southeast South Dakota.
Sombke would like to see the PUC take a closer look at the plume studies of these pipelines.
Sombke comments on how Summit Carbon Solutions uses mafia style of intimidation to get what they want.
Coming up at the Brown County Fair will be a Farmer’s Forum dealing with eminent domain vs property rights.
Sombke still feels that a special session is needed to address the issue of eminent domain.
The Farmer Forum at the Brown County Fair will take place at 1pm, Saturday, August 19th at the Kessler’s Big Top Tent.
South Dakota Farmers Union will also be addressing this at the South Dakota State Fair on Saturday, Sept 2nd.
