SDGA Amateur Championship (Men & Women) @ Meadowbrook GC [Day 3 of 3]

RAPID CITY, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – After the three days out west in Rapid City during the SDGA Amateur Championship(s), SDSU’s Reese Jansa won the crown & finished the highest for any of the women college golfers & Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun finished in second place, with the best score for any of the high school girls.

The Jackrabbit from Sioux Falls would card a 73 on the final day of the three day tournament and finish the back nine with three birdies & even an eagle on the par five 15^th hole to secure the championship.

Aberdeen’s Olivia Braun had a tough front nine, with three bogeys, but on the back nine, locked in and competed for a shot for the medalist position; ultimately falling just a few shots behind the junior SDSU product. Braun birdied the 13^th, 15^th & 16^th holes and finished the day shooting an even par.

On the guys’ side, Kevin Gillick (senior at the University of Nebraska) from Rapid City would be the medalist; finishing three strokes ahead of second place Brock Murphy of Sioux Falls. Gillick finished [-5] for the tournament, while Murphy was two shots under par for the three day tournament.
