Class AA Girls State Tournament [Day 2 of 2] @ Hillcrest CC, Yankton, SD. GGID: 24SDGIRLSAA

YANKTON, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – The State AA girls’ golf tournament wrapped up on Tuesday from Hillcrest CC in Yankton. After the first day, there were just three strokes separating the top three teams, but when the dust settled, there was a bit more separation. Collectively as a team, the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles finished in third place, behind second place Mitchell & first place Watertown. Individually, sophomore Olivia Braun would finish the runner up to first place Allison Meyerink (senior) of Mitchell, who improved her game by one stroke from the previous day. The course played tough for all golfers & while Braun hit three birdies on three of the first four holes on Monday, on Tuesday after a birdie on the first hole, she had a bogey on the second hole & a double bogey on the fourth hole. Even still, she finished strong with a birdie on the par four 18^th, but ultimately finished just one stroke shy of the state AA title.
