BROOKINGS, S.D. (KJJQ) – South Dakota State University President Barry Dunn announced two dual-credit scholarships for high school juniors and seniors in South Dakota geared toward those taking dual credit courses in high school.
They’re called the The Jackrabbit Access College Early (ACE) Scholarship and the Jackrabbit Journey Scholarship. Dunn says this stems from a study conducted by the South Dakota legislative Research Council. That study shows the dual credit program in the state is very successful and helps lower the cost of college.
Dunn says these scholarships will open more doors to participate in higher education.
He says, taken together it provides a semester of college for free.
Dunn says we need to get these young people into college and into the workforce.
