BROOKINGS, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota State University has hired Vernon Brown of Sioux Falls to be an associate vice president for external affairs.

Brown says SDSU President Barry Dunn asked him to oversee the Connect Program in Sioux Falls.

Brown says SDSU is much more than an ag university.

Brown says many of the majors offered at SDSU relate directly to the needs of Sioux Falls.

Brown has been with SDN Communications for twenty years and also served eight years on the Sioux Falls City Council.
