BROOKINGS, S.D.(KBRK)- South Dakota State University President Barry Dunn says, overall, he’s pleased with the just-completed South Dakota legislative session.
There were a number of successes. For Dunn, passage of Representative Larry Tidemann’s bill to fully cover the state employee pay raise at the universities is major.
The legislature appoved and the governor has signed a bill authorizing the 53-million dollar renovation of Frost Arena.
Dunn also points to the bill authorizing the six-million dollar upgrade for the SDSU Cottonwood Research Station near Phillip. He says it was heavily damaged by winds a few years ago.
The research station has been operational for 115 years.
