ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – Officials are continuing to search for a plane that went missing last Wednesday.
The missing aircraft is a single-engine Cessna 172, white with light blue markings. It had one
person on board. Authorities believe the missing aircraft has an emergency locator beacon but
no signal has been detected.
Civil Air Patrol flight missions were flown Sunday and Monday in both South Dakota and North Dakota. Ground crews from Brown County SD, Dickey County ND, Ransom County ND,
and Civil Air Patrol have been working the area. Weather grounded any air missions for Tuesday, but is expected to resume Wednesday.
We are asking for continued support from the public on anything you may find or
have heard to please pass on to authorities.
With the South Dakota state pheasant season opener this coming weekend we are
asking for hunters to please be on the lookout for anything of interest.
