PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The group of South Dakota legislators tasked with determining whether Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg should be impeached held its first meeting to close out two and half long days of special sessions at the State Capitol Wednesday. Chief Research and Legislative Analyst Justin Goetz set the scope of the Select Committee on Investigation.
Representative Spencer Gosch wanted more details on what some of the terms guiding impeachment mean.
Gosch says a Special Counsel will be important for moving forward.
Goetz mentioned in his presentation to the Select Committee on Investigation that those who don’t comply with subpoenas or requests to testify before the Committee could be held in contempt and either imprisoned until the Special Session is completed or charged with a Class Two Misdemeanor.
