PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota Senate Committee on Appropriation voted on SB225.  The bill would apportion interest earnings from the unclaimed property trust fund to school districts.

Prime sponsor is Senator Mark Lapka of Leola who’s on the committee.

Senator Taffy Howard of Rapid City is also on the committee and moved it to the 41st day.  She commend the effort but felt this wouldn’t take it to the right direction.

The committee voted 5-3 to send the bill to the 41st day.
