Senate Health and Human Services Committee passes bill dealing with synthetic cannabis products

PIERRE, S.D.(KELO)- South Dakota is on the road to banning synthetic cannabis products.

They are largely unregulated, and often sold in gas stations, but Senator Brent Hoffman of Sioux Falls says that doesn’t mean they’re safe.

State Health Secretary Melissa Magstadt says the ban would have no impact on the new medical marijuana law.

The Senate Health and Human Services Committee endorsed the bill, sending it to the full Senate for consideration.
