PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The State of the State speech by Governor Kristi Noem yesterday kicked off the 2021 legislative session.

Senate Minority Leader Troy Heinert of Mission says Democrats want to hear more of the debate over the Governor’s proposals.

Heinert says the pandemic is causing financial stress for many families.

Heinert says there are some issues they can support.

Heinert is one of three Democrats in the 35-member Senate.
