ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The main run of the 101st South Dakota Legislative session is complete. District 3 Senator Carl Perry looked back on the session.
Perry announced he will be apart of the SB121 which deals with the Richmond Dam project.
Perry was asked at one of the Legislative Coffee about a bill that he was listed as a co-sponsor but admitted not reading. He explains why sometimes he does that.
Perry discuss HB1262 which would place a school based therapeutic center in Brown County.
Perry addressed HJR5001 which would have placed on the ballot the issue of no eminent domain for private gain.
Perry was asked about property tax relief. SB96 which was Governor Rhoden’s bill presented savings and gave example about how much is saved for $325,000 home. Perry was asked how that would impact home in Brown County.
The South Dakota Senate on the floor didn’t really address data centers. Most were done on the committee level. Perry serves on the Senate State Affairs and one dealt with a moratorium of one year on data center. The committee deferred it to the 41st day. He explains why.
Veto Day will be on March 30th which marks the final day of this year’s legislative session.
