BURBANK, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota legislators passed and Governor Kristi Noem signed HB1080, a bill that will prohibit medical and surgical interventions on minors, especially dealing with gender issues.

Senator Sydney Davis of Burbank voted for the bill.

Davis says she wanted to hear more research on the issue.

Opponents said the legislature was getting between patients and their medical professionals.
