Senator Jim Bolin compare the redistricting process this year to 10 years ago

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Committees from the South Dakota House and Senate are working the numbers and maps, redrawing legislative districts ahead of the 2022 election season.

Senator Jim Bolin of Canton was also on the 2011 committee and says there are some differences this time.

Bolin says they are dealing with seven counties that have too many people to be one district.

Bolin says they have decided on their plus and minus tolerance for legislative districts.

The committees meet again next week. A special session is scheduled for November 8th to approve the new election maps.
