Senator pleased with special education funding in state budget

CANTON, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, during her budget address, proposed that special education services be reclassified and that an additional $14 million in state funding be added.

Senator Jim Bolin of Canton has served on special education study committees the past two years and says it is a good move by the Governor.

Bolin says many school districts have seen rapidly rising costs for special education.

Bolin says in light of the budget proposal he doesn’t think there will be any other special education bills in next years session.
