ABERDEEN, S.D.(Hub City Radio)- Senator Mike Rounds was at the Brown County Fair on Thursday. He took time to talk about issues happening out in Washington.
Rounds is pushing to improve postal service in South Dakota and other rural states.
Rounds stated an example of when his office sent mail out from first class from Rapid City to Pierre.
Rounds is working on legislation to address this matter.
Rounds also discussed the pending Farm Bill. One snag that occurred in the Senate Agriculture Committee is the issue involving the SNAP program.
Rounds also addressed E15 fuel which if passed would be year round.
Another amendment on the Senate version of the Farm Bill is MCOOL(Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling) which is included. Senator Rounds hope this will stay on the bill when they return from recess in September.
