WASHINGTON, D.C.(KOTA)- A number of Black Hills veteran’s clinics could be closed as a result of an effort to centralize and cut costs.
Mike Rounds, South Dakota Senator who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said he feels rural communities are being picked on.
Rounds said the contributions of rural and reservation American’s shouldn’t go overlooked by the federal government.
Rounds explained what stands to go away if these community hospitals were to close.
This week, Rounds co-wrote a letter with Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va) addressed to President Joe Biden expressing concern regarding rural VA representation.
