PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Since last month’s general election there is a new feeling in the nation’s capital. South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says Senate Republicans have met to discuss what a Republican-controlled Congress looks like.
Rounds says with the selection of fellow South Dakota Senator John Thune to lead them the Senate is ready to rally around Senator Thune.
Rounds says he’s already had some informal talks with Homeland Security Secretary nominee, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.
Rounds says he’s working on a funding mechanism to allow Noem and Homeland Securty to quickly support security of the U-S/Mexican border.
