WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – Congress returned to Washington this week following the almost six-week August break.

South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says during the recess he got many questions about the health of his wife Jean.

Jean Rounds was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her back.

Rounds says her treatments continue at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minn.

Rounds says Jean has another round of checkups at the clinic next week.

Rounds first released a statement about the diagnosis in early June.
