WASHINGTON, D.C.(WNAX)- Following the US Supreme Court ruling on Roe v Wade, sending enforcement of abortion laws back to the states, Justice Clarence Thomas added an opinion that it may be time to review rulings dealing with contraception and same sex marriages.
South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says he doesn’t think the Court is ready to take those steps.
Rounds says the initial Roe v Wade ruling was a mistake.
Rounds says any additional steps the legislature takes will be with an eye on the voters.
Governor Kristi Noem has said she will call legislators back to Pierre for a special session to add more abortion restrictions.
