PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds, along with Congressman Dusty Johnson got the RESPECT Act passed by Congress and on the Presidents desk.
Rounds says the Repealing Existing Substandard Provision Encouraging Conciliation with Tribes Act, would repeal a number of historically wrong laws.
Rounds says he has worked with the tribes on the changes.
Rounds says its more than symbolic.
Rounds says while the laws were not enforced anymore, it was time to remove them from federal statute.
