YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – District 18 State Senator Craig Kennedy spoke to the Yankton School Board this week.

Kennedy outlined the number of education related bills the legislature dealt with this year.

Kennedy says education is always a big issue in Pierre.

Members of the school board told Kennedy they were concerned with the zero increase in state aid proposed by Governor Kristi Noem. Kennedy says the demands for state dollars are intense.

Kennedy told the board the Governor’s proposal is a starting point and the final budget passed in March could be quite different.
