Senator Thune address improving broadband in rural communities

WASHINGTON, D.C.(WNAX)- The federal government has committed hundreds of millions of dollars to expansion of broadband internet services.

In a speech on the Senate floor, South Dakota Senator John Thune says lots of money has flooded that zone.

Thune says there is not enough oversight of those broadband programs.

Thune says the National Telecommunications and Information Adminstration is mismanaging current broadband programs.

Most of the money in those programs is directed to providng better service in rural areas.
