SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- South Dakota is the latest state to join forces with the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.

The group launched its South Dakota Advisory Council at a luncheon Wednesday that featured Senator John Thune.

He was questioned about his support for sending more aid to Ukraine in its war with Russia when Ukraine isn’t a NATO ally.

Thune also stressed the importance of keeping the U.S. engaged with countries around the world as a means of combating China’s efforts to achieve global dominance.
