WASHINGTON, D.C.(KMIT)- The US Senate is not in session this week, but before the break, Senator John Thune held the Senate’s Republican leadership press conference.  He says when they return, they should be focused on one issue.

He says their next deadline is fewer than six weeks away.

Thune also talked about the situation at the US southern border.

Thune is among a group of senators who sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer vowing to block any non-spending-related bills when the chamber returns to session next week.
