Senator Thune comment on the debt ceiling crisis

WASHINGTON, D.C.(HubCityRadio)- Following reports that President Biden will meet with leaders of the U.S. House & Senate, Senator John Thune went to the floor of the Senate Tuesday to comment on that.

Senator Thune talks about the projected deadline Secretary Janet Yellen announced when the U.S. could be in default on the debt.

Thune hopes the President is serious about negotiating with Congress about the debt this time.

Thune comments on raising the debt ceiling comes along with negotiating ways to budget in the future.

Thune quoted President Biden when he was Vice President back in 2011 dealing with the debt crisis.

Thune talks about polls showing Americans regardless of party affiliation are in favor of trying to find ways to lower the deficit.

President Biden is scheduled to meet with leaders of both parties of the U.S. House & Senate next Tuesday, May 9th.
