WASHINGTON, D.C.(KCCR)- South Dakota Senator John Thune succeeded in amending a massive Democratically-backed spending package focused on climate, health care and taxes. Thune says passage of his amendment is a short-term win.
The package also provides for 87-thousand new employees for the Internal Revenue Service that Thune opposes.
Thune, appearing on Fox News, says the bill spends wildly and doesn’t address inflation.
Thune says it’s unlikely the spending package will be stopped in the U-S House.
