WASHINGTON, D.C.(KMIT)- South Dakota Senator John Thune recently announced his bid to replace outgoing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Thune, who is the No. 2 Senate Republican, says the decision was not difficult.
Thune talked about what he would bring to the position.
He talked about what can be done to bridge the gap between Democrats and Republicans.
Texas Senator John Cornyn has also announced his bed to replace McConnell as Senate Minority Leader. McConnell plans to leave the position in November.
