Senator Thune stopped in Watertown Thursday

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG) US Senator John Thune made his way to Watertown, SD, today to visit the local Rotary Club and tour Glacial Lakes Rubber and Plastics.

Thune said the forum-style conversations revolved around government operations, spending and debt, inflation, and the Southern border.

KXLG News asked Thune what one of his main focuses is concerning South Dakota.

Thune remarked, “Every state is a border state.” Regarding border issues, KXLG News asked about the border to the North.

Thune said, “It’s predominantly a state issue,” when asked about the Co2 pipeline projects.

Senator John Thune is looking to replace Kentucky Republican Senator Mitch McConnell as Republican leader and has been met with the competition of John Cornyn of Texas.
