Series of Walking Tours coming up in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. ( – The Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department has planned a series of Walking Tours of Historic Districts coming up in September. Troy McQuillen will lead these leisurely one-hour walks through Aberdeen’s oldest residential neighborhoods. People will learn about the history of early Aberdeen, as well as architectural styles of the period.

The walks were originally scheduled for earlier in the year, but were postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Gene Morsching, Recreation Superintendent, said that they are now doing all of them within about a week’s time.

There is no fee for these tours, but people wishing to attend need to put their name on an interest list by calling the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Office prior to the tour date.
