Several juveniles arrested after shots fired in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KBHB) – Rapid City police say several juveniles have been arrested after shots were allegedly fired in the 800 block of Fifth Street Tuesday morning.

Rapid City Police Chief Karl Jegeris says police responded to a home at 812 Fifth Street, where they quickly set up a perimeter and diverted traffic away from the area.

He says a couple of groups of juveniles were involved.

Jegeris labeled the juveniles involved as “out of control.”

As a precaution, nearby Rapid City High School was placed in full lockdown.

Jegeris says because they are dealing with juveniles, they don’t anticipate releasing any names.
