ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – Events of the past few weeks have been changing rapidly, and we at Yelduz Shrine have been monitoring closely the developments regarding the COVID-19 (Corona Virus) outbreak. We wanted to let you know we plan to follow the guidance and suggestions of experts with the Federal, State, and Local health agencies regarding holding events, meetings, and gatherings for our Shrine Center.
In that regard, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control has recommended that all public gatherings of 50 or more people be cancelled or postponed for a period of 8 weeks. Yelduz will follow this recommendation and will be cancelling or postponing all shrine sanctioned events that meet that threshold (March 17, 2020 through May 9, 2020). This includes all Club and Unit activities under the Yelduz jurisdiction. This will impact the April Circus in Aberdeen and Huron. Unfortunately these events will be canceled and not rescheduled in 2020. We are truly saddened by this but the safety of our members and general pubic who support the circus and other events must take priority. At this time the June Circuses in Pierre and Mobridge are still scheduled to go on as planned. Yelduz will continue to monitor the COVID 19 recommended procedures and will make adjustments to future events if need be. Those businesses who have purchased children’s tickets will be contacted with options of having their donation refunded, moved to next year, or donated to other shrine causes.
Please continue to monitor Yelduz.com and the Yelduz Shriners Facebook page for updates and changes to future events. The Yelduz Shriners would like to thank everyone in the area for their past support. We hope you will continue to support the Shriners and their mission in the future once the COVID-19 pandemic is under control.
