PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – U.S. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue has announced the next round of market facilitation program payments. South Dakota Farm Service Agency State Director Paul (shoe-beck) Shubeck says the payment rates vary by county and are in response to the negative impacts of the trade war with China.
He says the payment rates are based on how much damage the Chinese tariffs have had on farmers in their county.
He advises producers to call ahead to their county FSA office for an appointment because some of their counties are still compiling acreage reporting from farmers and are quite busy.
