Sioux Falls City Council move one step closer to new Convention Center

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- City officials are moving closer to the idea of building a new Convention Center.

City Councilors were briefed by consultants on a review and market analysis.

John Fleming of Johnson Consulting says the city needs more convention space…and locating in what’s called the Riverline District on the east side of downtown would put convention goers within walking distance of downtown attractions.

One concern about the Riverline location is being near the Dudley House, which is the state’s largest homeless shelter.
