Sioux Falls couple accused of using meth and cattle prods on children

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Sioux Falls couple is accused of using meth and cattle prods on four children over several years.

Captain Josh Phillips with the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says the alleged abuse against these kids had been going on for a long time.

The children are all related.

Phillips says the drugs and shock prods were used to punish the children when they didn’t obey.

Jailed are Lance Lowell Long, 36, and Crystallynn Long, 40. They face 14 counts, including distributing a controlled substance to a minor and abuse or cruelty to a minor.

Phillips says authorities had been tipped off about this situation weeks ago, the children were interviewed, and then the two suspects were arrested in Oklahoma.

The children are now in the custody of social services.
