SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- They unveiled a vision for downtown Sioux Falls for the year 2050…and it’s big.
The Sioux Falls Convention Center has been good…but the city has outgrown it according to Mayor Paul TenHaken.
He unveiled proposed plans for a new Convention Center in the downtown district, to be located on the East side of the viaduct at the current Department of Social Services building site.
He says it could become the biggest economic driver in the history of the city.
As for the current Convention Center near the Premier Center…it could fill another important need in the city.
Nothing is set in stone yet.
The Mayor is asking city residents to dream with planners.
