SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- A Sioux Falls man is being held on kidnapping, assault and child abuse charges in an early-morning incident in southwest Sioux Falls.

Officers responded to a report from neighbors that included mention of a firearm.

Raymond Allen allegedly assaulted a woman and a small child, and then fled the scene with her two small children.

Lieutenant Nick Butler says officers quickly began a search effort.

Allen is expected to appear in court this afternoon.
